Viena, recién acabada la 2ª Guerra Mundial. Un escritor americano sin talento, Holly Martins, llega a buscar a su amigo Harry Lime y se entera de que ha muerto en un accidente. Intentando aclarar los hechos conoce a la novia de Harry y se da cuenta de que quizá está todavía vivo.
Vienna, the 2nd World War has just finished. An American writer without talent, Holly Martins, comes to meet his friend Harry Lime and finds out that he has died in a accident. Trying to clarify the facts he meets Harry’s girlfriend and realizes that maybe he is still alive.
