THE SOUL OF MAN

As part of the series of films produced by Martin Scorsese on the musical universe of blues, Wenders focuses here on the figures of the remarkable Skip James, a singer who had his highest point at the beginning of the thirties, who after over three decades of disappearance was found in a hospital and had a brief revival in the sixties, sometime before he died, and J.B. Lenoir, an interpreter prematurely deceased in an accident who developed a political dimension of the genre and was a forerunner of the electric variations that became fashionable in the last years.
