La joven Aschlop es testigo de una masacre en el pueblo maya de San Francisco en Guatemala, donde 253 habitantes son asesinados y su hermano Mateo es arrestado por la policia. Con su familia y miles de indios huye a México donde son acogidos en un campo de refugiados. Pero Aschlop siente que su hermano está vivo y quiere volver a buscarlo.
Aschlop, a young girl witnesses a massacre in the Mayan village San Francisco in Guatemala, where 253 inhabitants are killed and her brother Mateo is arrested by the military police. With her family and thousands of indians flee to Mexico where they are lead to safety in a refugee camp. But Aschlop feels that her brother is alive and wants to return to find him.
