El joven de la alta sociedad Edward llega con su amigo Cedric a la mansión familiar, Ivory Hall. Planea emparejar a Cedric con su hermana Emily. Emily, por su parte, se enamora del hijo de un campesino local, George. La vieja tía Agnes envía a todo el grupo primero a Italia y después a la India, para que Emily se olvide del inapropriado George y escoja a Cedric.
Young upper-class fellow Edward arrives with his friend Cedric at the family manse, Ivory Hall. He plans to pair off Cedric with his sister Emily. Emily, on the other hand, falls in love with a son of a local peasant, George. Old Aunt Agnes sends all the bunch off, first to Italy and then to India, so Emily would forget inappropriate George and choose Cedric.
