Saba está al cuidado de los hijos de su hermana mayor después de la muerte inesperada de ésta. Se siente atraída por un maestro de escuela pero, por el bien de los niños,ni tan siquiera quiere pensarlo. La tradición dice que Saba se verá obligada a aceptar la propuesta de su cuñado. Sus emociones entran en conflicto y nos impresionan tanto como la belleza del paisaje y el páramo en el que vive.

Saba is caring for older sister’s children after her unexpected death. She is attracted to a schoolteacher but cannot open her mind to him for children’s sake. Saba’s heart is heavy with the burden of tradition she might have to accept her brother-in-law’s proposal.
