RAYE MAKHFI

Un soldado destacado y abandonado en una playa desierta descubre al despertar que éste no va a ser un día cualquiera: se celebran unas elecciones, pero nadie parece saber nada sobre ellas. En el mismo momento en que desciende del cielo una urna en paracaídas, una mujer joven desembarca en la playa. Para mayor perplejidad del soldado, la mujer es la responsable de una sede electoral móvil y está encargada de organizar la votación en las islas. En consecuencia, el soldado tendrá que obedecer sus órdenes y escoltarla con su fusil y su vehículo militar, mientras la mujer se empeña en ir recogiendo los votos por el desierto.

A soldier stationed on a deserted beach wakes up and discovers that it’s not going to be an ordinary day: there are the elections, but nobody seems to know anything about them. Just as an electoral urn is being parachuted from the sky, a young woman disembarks on the beach. To the soldier’s bafflement, it turns out that she is in charge of the mobile electoral seat and voting on the islands; therefore the soldier is obliged to obey her orders and escort her with his rifle and army jeep across the desert, where the woman obstinately intends to collect the votes.
