ÍNTIMA RAÍZ

Mediante narraciones paralelas, la película contrapone la visión del mundo de los indios que habitaban lo que hoy es Costa Rica, y la de los conquistadores españoles que llegaron a esta tierra. El resultado de este choque cultural se simboliza en la violación de un soldado español que comete en contra de una mujer indígena, personaje central de la obra que representa, acaso, a toda América Latina.

Through parallel lnarrations, the film contrasts the world vision of the Indians who dwelled in the actual Costa Rica and teh Spanish conquerors one who arrived in Costa Rica. the result of this cultural shock is resembled in the rape carried out by a Spanish soldier against a native woman, main character of the filmm who may represent the whole Latin America.
