Desilusionado con su vida en los suburbios del segregado Beirut, Omar descubre algo que lo arrastrará a las entrañas de la ciudad. Inmerso en un mundo que está tan cerca y a la vez tan lejos de su realidad, finalmente se pierde y se descubre a sí mismo luchando por mantener sus vínculos, su sentido del hogar.
Disappointed with his life in the suburbs of segregated Beirut, Omar’s discovery lures him into the depth of the city. Immersed in a world that is so close yet so isolated from his reality, he eventually loses track and finds himself struggling to keep his attachments, his sense of home.
DIRECCIÓN: Ely Dagher
Ely Dagher vive actualmente entre Londres, Bruselas y Beirut. Tras terminar en 2007 Dirección de Arte/Ilustración y Animación en la Academia Libanesa de Bellas Artes, se licenció con honores en el Goldmiths College de Londres con un máster en Nuevos Medios de Comunicación y Estudios de Arte Contemporáneo (2009). Su primer corto Beirut (2007), fue muy bien recibido y resultó seleccionado en numerosos festivales, ganando el Premio al Mejor Corto de Animación en el Festival Bitfilm 2008 en Hamburgo, Alemania.
Ely Dagher is currently living between London, Brussels and Beirut. After completing Art Direction/Illustration and Animation at the Academie libanaise des Beaux-Arts in 2007, he graduated with honours from Goldmiths College, London with an MA in New Media and Contemporary Art Studies (2009). Ely’s first short film Beirut (2007) was very well received and was featured in numerous festivals, winning the Best Short Animated Film at Bitfilm Festival 2008 in Hamburg, Germany.
