REPINTANDO CUBA

“Repainting Cuba” es una mirada crítica sobre la Cuba comunista, donde tanto a las fachadas como al anciano régimen se le da una mano de pintura en relación con el 50 aniversario de la revolución. Dos jóvenes cubanos bajo arresto hablan sobre estar en la cárcel por tratar con turistas extranjeros en una sociedad donde el cotilleo y las puñaladas por la espalda son endémicas, y donde un fuerte barniz no puede esconder las grietas.

“Repainting Cuba” takes a critical look at communist Cuba, where both the façades and the ageing regime were given a coating of colourful paint in connection with the 50 year anniversary of the revolution. Two young Cubans under house arrest talk about being imprisoned for dealing with foreign tourists in a society where gossip and backstabbing is endemic, and where the heavy varnish can’t conceal the cracks.
