Matt Smith, an openly gay young man in conservative South Carolina, reflects on his first relationship with a man and the tragic end to their time together. This powerful portrait examines the difficulties of being gay in rural America, the strength to overcome deep personal pain, and the hope for acceptance.

Director brasileño-americano. Su trabajo ha formado parte de las secciones oficiales de festivales como Tesalónica, Huesca, Indie Grits, RiverRun y SECCA. Sus premios y becas incluyen la Beca de Investigación de la Film Independent Fast Track y la del Directing Lab, el Seminario Werner Herzog’s Rogue Film School y el Premio del Jurado de los estudiantes de cinematografía otorgado por el Gremio de directores de América. Uno de sus guiones pasó el Sundance Creative Producing Labs y estudió cine en la Escuela de Artes UNC donde ganó la beca completa Kenan Excellence.
Brazilian-American filmmaker with works at the Official Selections of Thessaloniki, Huesca, Indie Grits, RiverRun and SECCA. His awards and fellowships include the Film Independent Fast Track Fellowship and the Directing Lab Fellowship, Werner Herzog’s Rogue Film School Seminar and the Director’s Guild of America Student Filmmaker Jury Award. He had a screenplay go through the Sundance Creative Producing Labs and studied Filmmaking at the UNC School of the Arts where he was a Kenan Excellence Full Scholarship recipient.
