A pesar de haberse quedado sin trabajo, Michel es feliz con Marie-Claire. Hace 30 años que se aman. Sus hijos y sus nietos les miman. Tienen muy buenos amigos. Se enorgullecen de sus luchas políticas y sindicales. Sus conciencias son tan transparentes como sus miradas.
Pero su felicidad se hará pedazos al igual que su ventanal, cuando dos hombres armados y enmascarados les agraden, les arrancan los anillos de boda y huyen con las tarjetas de crédito. Su desconcierto será aún mayor cuando se enteren de que la brutal agresión ha sido cometido por un joven obrero de la fábrica que se quedó en paro al mismo tiempo que Michel. Uno de los suyos. Poco a poco, Michel y Marie-Claire entenderán que Christophe, el agresor, actuó empujado por la necesidad. Vive solo con dos hermanos pequeños de los que se ocupa con devoción, vigilando sus estudios y su salud.
Despite losing his job, Michel lives happily with Marie-Claire. They have been in love for more than thirty years. Their children and grandchildren adore them. They have plenty of close friends. They are proud of their union and political struggles. Their conscience is as clear as their view of life. Their happiness will be shattered along with their view from a window, when two young men, armed and masked, beat and tie them up, snatch their wedding rings and flee with their credit cards. The shock will be even greater when they discover that this brutal attack was committed by one of the young workers laid off at the same time as Michel, by one of their own people. Michel and Marie- Claire gradually discover that their attacker, Christophe, only did what he did because he had no other choice. He lives alone with his two younger brothers and takes very good care of them, keeping a close eye on their education and health.

Nació en 1953 en el barrio de l’Estaque, en Marsella, de padre armenio y madre alemana. A mediados de los años sesenta se trasladó a París para estudiar Ciencias Sociales y Economía. En 1980 debutó como realizador con Dernier été, firmada conjuntamente con Franck le Wita y cuya historia se desarrolla en su barrio natal. Para aquel rodaje se rodeó de un grupo de amigos, técnicos e intérpretes, encabezado por Ariane Ascaride, Gérard Meylan y Jean-Pierre Darroussin, que le han acompañado a lo largo de su filmografía. Es uno de los fundadores de Agat Films y Ex Nihilo, productoras de numerosos cineastas franceses, y con las que él mismo ha financiado sus películas de ficción y documentales para la televisión. Entre su filmografía encontramos títulos como Filmografía: À la vie, à la mort! (1995), Marius et Jeannette (1997), Marie-Jo et ses 2 amours (2001), Le promeneur du Champ de Mars (2004), Le voyage en Arménie (2006) o Lady Jane (2008).
Born in 1953 in the neighbourhood of l’Estaque, Marseille, to an Armenian father and German mother. In the mid-70’s he moved to Paris to study Economics and Social Sciences. He debuted as a director in 1980 with Dernier été, in conjunction with Franck le Wita and whose story takes place in his old neighbourhood. For this film he surrounded himself with a group of friends, technicians and actors, headed by Ariane Ascaride, Gérard Meylan and Jean-Pierre Darroussin, who have starred in most of his films. He is one of the founders of Agat Films and Ex Nihilo, production companies of many French filmmakers, and with which he has financed his fiction and documentaries for television. In his filmography, there are other films, such as À la vie, à la mort! (1995), Marius et Jeannette (1997), Marie-Jo et ses 2 amours (2001), Le promeneur du Champ de Mars (2004), Le voyage en Arménie (2006) and Lady Jane (2008).
