LA CANICA

Un niño lumpen tiene una canica y decide jugar con otros niños, el niño pierde pero logra recuperar la canica pese al enojo de los niños que le arrojan piedras. Al ir caminando por la calle, un niño le ofrece un periquito a cambio de la canica. Acepta pero lo deja libre. Más tarde ayuda a una mujer a atrapar un gallo, y ella le da dinero en recompensa. Con ese dinero se compra otra canica. Vuelve a encontrar al niño que le cambió el periquito por la canica, juegan a las canicas y el protagonista toma una canica y se va corriendo.

A boy from the underclass has a marble. He decides to play with the other children but loses and when he takes the marble back the others get angry and throw stones at him. Walking along the street, a boy offers to give him a parrot for the marble. He accepts, but frees the bird. Later, he helps a woman to catch a cock and she gives him some money as a reward. With the money he buys another marble. He meets the boy with whom he swapped the marble for the parrot. They begin to play marbles when the protagonist takes a marble and runs away.
