¿Cómo puedes mantener la distancia con quién más te quiere? ”Si quieres hacer una película sobre mujeres independientes, ¿no deberías hacer una película sobre nuestra familia?”. Así es como madre e hija emprenden un viaje para retratar las cuatro generaciones que salieron adelante sin un hombre.
How can you keep your distance from the one that loves you the most? ‘If you want to make a film about independent women, shouldn’t you make a film about our family?’ And that is how mother and daughter embarked on a journey together to make a portrait about the four generations who managed without a man.

Estudió Filosofía y Física antes de dedicarse al mundo del cine documental. Se graduó este año como director por la Academia de Cine de los Países Bajos con una matrícula de honor. Su película de graduación If Mama Ain’t Happy, Nobody’s Happy fue aclamado por la crítica por la prensa nacional y reunió varias nominaciones y premios, entre ellos el Premio del Público NCP. Después de su graduación el periódico holandés NRC la contrató para dirigir, desarrollar y supervisar su nuevo departamento de contenidos de vídeo. Actualmente está desarrollando varios documentales independientes.
She studied Philosophy and Physics before turning to the world of documentary filmmaking. Mea graduated as director from the Netherlands Film Academy with an Honours Degree. Her graduation film If Mama Ain’t Happy, Nobody’s Happy was critically acclaimed by the national press and gathered several nominations and awards, amongst them, the NCP Audience Award. Immediately after her graduation the Dutch newspaper NRC hired her to lead, develop and supervise their new content-video department. Mea is currently developing several independent documentaries.
