ETRE ET AVOIR

Todavía existen, en algunos rincones de Francia, escuelas “unitarias” donde se agrupan en torno a un mismo maestro o maestra todos los niños del mismo pueblo, desde preescolar hasta final de primaria. A medio camino entre una cerrada entropía y la apertura al mundo, estas escuelas heterogéneas comparten la vida todos los días, en lo bueno y en lo malo. Esta película fue rodada en una de ellas, en algún lugar en el centro de Auvergne.

Here, there and everywhere in France there are still “one-room schools” where all the children in one and the same village are taught by the same schoolmaster or-mistress, from the very youngest to pupils at the end of primary school (10-11 years). Between introversion and an open minded attitude to the world, eclectic little bands share their everyday life, for better or for worse. This film was shot in one such school, somewhere in the depths of the Auvergne.
