Abandoned Goods cuenta la historia de la Colección Adamson. Redescubierta recientemente después de años de abandono, la colección es uno de los principales cuerpos de British asylum art.

Abandoned Goods tells the story of the Adamson Collection. Recently rediscovered after years of neglect, the collection is one of the major bodies of British ‘asylum art’.

DIRECCIÓN: Pia Borg, Edward Lawrenson

Pia Borg. Artista y cineasta. Reside en Los Ángeles. Desde que se graduó en Animación por el Royal College of Art, desarrolla su primer largometraje con Warp Films sobre la vida y obra de la fallecida artista y escritora Leonora Carrington. Recientemente codirigió un proyecto financiado por el Wellcome Trust titulado Through the Hawthorne (que ganó el Gran Premio en el Festival Internacional de Cine Animado de Stuttgart en 2014). Sus películas se han proyectado en festivales como Cannes, Anima Mundi, Hiroshima, Rotterdam o Sao Paulo. Su primer corto, Footnote, fue seleccionado para el Premio del Instituto del Cine Australiano. Enseña animación experimental en CalArts, California.

EDWARD_LAWRENSONEdward Lawrenson. Cineasta y periodista su trabajo se ha exhibido en el London International Short Film Festival, en el Open City London Film Festival y en Visions du Réel in Nyon, Suiza. Ha sido mentor de un taller para desarrollo de guiones financiado por la UE dirigido por Strada Films en Rumanía y tutelado en un postgrado en escritura en la Universidad de Glasgow. También ha programado para el BFI London Film Festival y para el Festival Internacional de Cine de Edimburgo.

 

Pia Borg. 

Artist and filmmaker based in LA. Since graduating in Animation from the Royal College of Art, she is in the process of developing her first feature film with Warp Films, about the life and work of the late artist and writer Leonora Carrington. She recently co-directed a Wellcome Trust funded project entitled Through the Hawthorne (which won the Grand Prix at Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film in 2014). Her films have been screened in various festivals including Cannes, Anima Mundi, Hiroshima, Rotterdam and Sao Paulo. Her debut short film Footnote was shortlisted for an Australian Film Institute award. She teaches experimental animation at CalArts, California.

EDWARD_LAWRENSONEdward Lawrenson. Filmmaker and journalist, his work has been shown at London International Short Film Festival, Open City London Film Festival and Visions du Réel in Nyon, Switzerland. He has mentored on an EU-funded script development workshop run by Strada Films in Romania and tutored on a post-graduate writing course at the University of Glasgow. He has also programmed for the BFI London Film Festival and the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
