AL FINAL DE LA NOCHE

DIRECCIÓN:

Nació en Tijuana México, donde obtuvo una licenciatura en cine por la Universidad de baja California. Allí dirigió Luciano (2012), su primer corto. Su tesis de cine Memín: Portrait of a Boxer participó en una docena de festivales de cine, como el Festival de Cine de La Habana, y fue premiada en el Festival de Cine Latino de San Diego y el Premio de honor José Rovirosa en 2014. A continuación hizo su segundo corto Viaggio (2014) que ganó el premio al mejor corto en el Discover Baja Festival, organizado por la Comisión de Cine de Baja California. Al otro lado (2016) es su trabajo más reciente y ganador del primer premio del fondo de producción regional, producido por el Instituto Mexicano del Cine (IMCINE). Actualmente trabaja en Al Norte. Al final de la noche es su último cortometraje.

Rodrigo Álvarez Flores grew up in Tijuana México, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Filmmaking at the University of Baja California which projected his first short film, Luciano (2012). Furthermore,  his film thesis Memín: Portrait of a Boxer participated in dozens of Film Festivals including the Havana Film Festival and won the San Diego Latino Film Festival and the José Rovirosa award Honorable Mention in 2014. He then made his second short film Viaggio (2014) which won the award for best short at the “Discover Baja Festival” organized by the Film Comission of Baja California. The Other Side – Al otro lado (2016) is his most recent work and winner of the 1st regional production fund produced by the Mexican Institute of Cinema (IMCINE). The recognition of his personal style of portraying this LGBT boarder love story is based on the script he is working on for the feature film script titled Al Norte (Up North), currently in its early development. His last short film is Al final de la noche (By the End of the Night).
