Locheng, un joven toatherd in el norte de Uganda anhela ser capaz de leer y escribir. Pero el destino se vuelve contra él. Hace 40 años, los ancianos de la tribu enterraron un bolígrafo, echando una maldición a las palabras escritas.

Locheng, a young toatherd in northern Uganda yearns to be able to read and write. But the odds are stacked against him. Forty years ago, tribal elders buried a pen, placing a curse on the written word. “Unearthing the Pen” is an intimate portrait of a boy’s struggle to reconcile tradition with his desire to learn.

Se graduó en el National Film and Television School. Desde entonces ha trabajado como directora autónoma y editora cinematográfica. Durante los últimos quince años, ha combinado su pasión por la edición con varios premios por sus cortos, largos y documentales con la dirección de sus propias películas.
She is a graduate of the National Film and Television School. Since then she has worked as a freelance director and film editor. For the last fifteen years she has combined her passion for editing on various award winning shorts, features, and documentaries with directing her own films.
