Laura se va de casa para empezar una nueva vida con su novio franco-canadiense, dejando a su hermana pequeña, Kate, con sus propios sentimientos de abandono. De este modo ambas se inician en el mundo adulto, donde la felicidad llega a costa de la inocencia.
Laura leaves home to start a new life with her French-Canadian crush, leaving her little sister Kate to cover for her and deal with her own feelings of abandonment. Both are thus initiated into an adult world where happiness comes at the cost of innocence.

Después de terminar la escuela de cine en la Universidad de Concordia en el 2000, David dirigió The Shine. En el invierno de 2003-04 el Festival Internacional de Berlín lo eligio para representar a los jóvenes directores más prometedores en el Campus de Talento de Berlinale. En enero viajo a Berlín y dirigió su primer guión The Pick-up. En 2005, terminó otro cortometraje, The First Day of My Life.
After finishing film school at Concordia University in 2000, David went on to shoot The Shine. In the winter of 2003-04 the Berlin International Film Festival chose David to represent the years up-and-coming international directorial talent at the Berlinale Talent Campus. In January he traveled to Berlin and shot his script The Pick-Up. In 2005, he finished another short called The First Day of My Life.
