This film is a light hearted tragedy set in Amsterdam at the end of the sixties and eighties. The leading character is a fairly well-to-do man around forty, Inni Wintrop. He follows the dips and rises of the stockexchange and specullates in art and love. Black Monday, the stockexchange crash of October 19th 1987, becomes a turning point in the life of Inni Wintrop.
