OPERACIÓN MASACRE

Esta reconstrucción de los fusilamientos de José León Suárez, en la que el sobreviviente Julio Troxler hace de sí mismo, es uno de los films político-militantes más importantes de la historia del cine argentino. Fue también el primer largometraje no documental concebido, realizado y exhibido en la clandestinidad durante la última etapa de la dictadura de Lanusse. El realizador logró rescatar los negativos de la destrucción al llevárselos al exilio, pero desde 1983 el film no había podido verse en Argentina en buenas condiciones. Será exhibido en una copia nueva de 35mm, gracias a la colaboración del Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales.

This reenactment of the José León Suárez killings, where the survivor Julio Troxler plays himself, is one of the peaks of militant-political cinema in Argentine film-making. It was the first non-documentary feature film conceived, filmed and screened underground in the last stage of Lanusse’s dictatorship. The film-maker managed to rescue the negatives from destruction by taking them with him to exile, but after 1983 it had become impossible to see the film properly. It will be screened in a new 35 mm copy thanks to the cooperation of the Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales.
