Etiopía, julio de 2007, tres meses antes del inicio del milenio etíope. Hagere Selam, un pequeño pueblo en las tierras altas de Etiopía. Los alumnos de 10º acaban de terminar su examen final. El resultado será tan importante que cambiará sus vidas. Si aprueban, podrán ir a la ciudad de Mekelle. También es así para Tsega, si aprueba y su madre le deja ir, podrá estudiar en Mekelle. Si suspende tendrá que quedarse en el pueblo, casarse y tener hijos. Igual que sus hermanas mayores.
Ethiopia, July 2007, three months before the start of the Ethiopian millennium. Hagere Selam, a small village in the northern highlands of Ethiopia. No ha estudiado en ninguna escuela de cine, pero tiene un enorme interés por la fotografía y el cine. Gracias al Fondo del Cine Flamenco, Belgian Cooperative, Off World y Rolf Orthel (Bert Haanstra), pudo realizar su primer documental en 2008, My future. El estreno en Bélgica y Etiopía fue un enorme éxito. Ha asistido a la academia Idfa y al Berlinale Talent Campus.
He didn’t study in any film school, but has a huge interest for photography and film. Thanks to the Flemish filmfund, Belgian Cooperative, Off World and Rolf Orthel (Bert Haanstra), he could make his first documentary in 2008, My future. The premiere in Belgium and Ethiopia was a huge success. He attended the Idfa academy and the Berlinale talent Campus.
