La joven Assia vive en el campo, en una granja comunal. Está enamorada de un hombre, Stepan, ser brutal y despiadado que la maltrata constantemente. A la aldea llega un mecánico que pretende a Assia. Pero Assia sigue enamorada de Stepan. Queda embarazada y el nacimiento de niño cambiará el rumbo de los acontecimientos.
The young Assia lives in the country, in a communal farm. She is in love with a man, Stepan, brutal and heartless who always mistreat her. To the village, it arrives a mechanical that court Assia.
